You and I both have something in common. Do you know what that is? Cancer!
Before I proceed any further, let me clarify what I mean by ‘you and I’ both have cancer in common. One way or the other, you and I both know someone close or distance to us that is affected by cancer. More than 331,000 people were diagnosed with cancer in 2011 in the UK. This staggering figure equates to around 910 people every day. With over 200 types of cancer, each with its own unique causes, symptoms and treatments; this deadly virus doesn’t discriminate between gender, age, colour or social background.
There is HOPE for the future
Did you know that half of the people diagnosed with cancer now survive their disease for at least ten years? With the continuous research at organisation such as Cancer Research, cancer survival rates in the UK have doubled in the last 40 years. This success is a contribution of different factors including investments, dedications and commitment from researchers in the field. What if I tell you that 75% of children are now cured of their disease, in comparison to 25% in the late 1960s…that’s remarkable right!?
Playing our part…would you support?
After ample deliberation between Cancer Research, Cancer Research, and Cancer Research (those were the three charities shortlisted for the hatJ), Cancer Research emerged as the Official Charity Big Motoring World will be supporting throughout 2015. To kick off our support, our Sales Team contributed money from their commission from car sales in the first weekend of 2015. They collectively raised the total sum of £340.00. This is a modest figure to begin our support of Cancer Research. However, the best is yet to come! Stay connected with us via social media channels and our blog to join our campaign to raise money to beat this deadly disease.
